- Use warm water to wash your face rather than hot or cold. Sometimes, water on both sides of the heat spectrum can have negative effects. Cold water, for example, isn’t as good at getting rid of grime and dirt, and hot water can damage the capillaries. As Goldilocks said, warm is just right.
- Blot your face dry with your bath towel rather than rub it. Towel is a harsh material and rubbing on your face to get it dry can drag the skin and add to the dryness. Dabbing it dry instead will help maintain the moisture you’ve collected in the shower but won’t scrape the skin.
- In the cold weather, it can be tempting to shove your face right up to the closest open fireplace but that will definitely help dry it out. You can stay warm and cosy without having to sit right up close to sources of heat so bear that in mind.
